70 days. An early, light-green eggplant. Good yield, very tender and delicious. Smooth oval-round fruit growing on small plants. We highly recommend this fine variety! Developed by the late Prof. Elwyn Meader, UNH 1964.

What are the pros? Germ rate & strong growth

What are the cons? None

Review:

Loc: 7000ft in the high desert, so long-season varieties like standard eggplants don't work well here. We have poor native soil small yard so we have a large container/raised bed garden. Even with container soil that turned slightly askew in pH, these did AMAZING. They took a while to establish after the seedlings were transferred, but once they did wow, prolific and delicious. The best part is you don't need to peel them, nor pre-soak them to remove the bite. If they get yellow, that's too far and you should just use for seeds. When they get nice and solid green all over, they're ready, regardless of size. You may see a few sizes up to 4in diameter (our avg was 3in) but they're all equal in quality. Whichever recipe you use them in, they work great and taste right with the perfect texture. We are tripling the number of Applegreens we are growin this season. Lots of compliments on the fruits we gave away to other foodies to try.

Well philippines only got the long eggplants and the circle purple one which doest taste good. Hhaha. Im very happy with this. What were growing right now were the 2nd generation of the seeds that weve purchased in baker creek. Heirloom were really cool. <3

What are the pros? Easy to grow, delicious!

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is a wonderfully easy eggplant to grow, especially in boxes, if you have limited space for gardening. The flavor and texture is outstanding. I have never had a bitter slice of this eggplant. It is tender skinned and superb for sauteing or frying, coated with bread crumbs. The cooked texture is amazingly creamy. My favorite eggplant ever!

What are the pros? Tasty when harvested green

What are the cons? Turn very bitter when yellow

Review:

Very tasty green early eggplants. Don't let them go to the yellow stage; they turn bitter.

What are the pros? solid fruit, cool green color

What are the cons? not very productive

Review:

I started these from seed in the end of Feb and they germinated well. My plants ended up being fairly small with one or two fruits per plant. The fruits were fairly solid and tasted good. They turn a pale shade of yellow when ripe.
