What are the pros? Prolific, easy,
What are the cons? None
This is a wonderful winter squash that grew among the corn with little care except water. It's flesh is not dense, dark orange and sweet. We like it best grated raw into coleslaw or salads. Raw it was sweet and crunchy, more carrot-like than a winter squash. It was prolific, with so many blossoms that we used many for squash dishes. We still had many of them to last us the winter. The hard shell allowed them to keep for a long time (until they froze in the garage). We feed the frozen ones to the sheep, goats, and chickens.
