What are the pros? Easy to grow, Tasty

What are the cons? none

Review:

Started four plants in seed pellets and later transferred to raised bed beginning of summer. Plants grew very well to around 3 feet in height, had almost no pests and have been giving us few eggplants every week to enjoy. We are getting 2 colors - light green and dark purple. The taste is excellent when picked before they get too ripe. I pick them when the size gets close to an egg. I stir fry them indian style with spices to have with rice and they are a hit with everyone in my family. Definitely growing this next year. Thanks Baker Creek for the excellent product!

What are the pros? prolific, beautiful, easy care

What are the cons? green fruits hide in leaves

Review:

This is a beautiful, tall plant with an abundance of fruits, even in the NM desert heat. It was happy to live in a 3-foot grow bag with squash vines and pole beans. I had no problems with disease or pests. I amended the soil with earthworm castings and organic fertilizer when I transplanted it, and gave it a top dressing of kelp and organic fertilizer a couple of times over the summer and that was it for care other than watering. It's still going strong. My only small complaint is that I missed a few of the green fruits hidden in the leaves and they got too big. The flavor is great in the small to medium fruit, but if you let it get too large there is some bitterness. I've had it in stew and spaghetti sauce, and breaded and fried. I'll definitely grow this one again.

What are the pros? Loved the heat

What are the cons? none

Review:

In the Phoenix, AZ area, I sowed directly in my raised bed during my late spring planting. They all came up and were nice compact plants that took a little while to start producing but once it started...no stopping these little eggplants! I get handfuls every few days! They are LOVING the heat when nothing but my okra is still alive. They have produced for many weeks now. My only advice, keep an eye on them and don't wait until they get 'big'. They will yellow and harden if you are expecting a medium to large eggplant. I pull these when they are egg size.

Planted this eggplant summer of 2012. Very productive and tasty eggplants. Have been growing eggplants for a few years now, this was the best tasting of them all. Will definitely grow again. Tall bushy plants, laden with fruits. Good variety to grow
