Asa No Kagayaki Stock

Translated from Japanese, the name means “morning glow,” and indeed these hazy apricot blooms are reminiscent of the sunrise during golden hour. The strong, thick stems are smothered in ruffled petals and waft a gorgeous clove-like fragrance. This single-stem variety requires a chilling period and therefore should be planted in late winter/early spring. It is not suitable for a late spring or summer planting. We love to eat stock flowers, which taste delicious in salads, baked goods and other recipes that call for a sweet, warming flavor note.
