What are the pros? compact, delicious tendrils

What are the cons? peas aren't tasty

Review:

I've grown this as a cover crop and nitrogen fixer for 3 years now, saving seed each year and in some cases just allowing it to reseed itself, which it's done freely. I appreciate this pea because it doesn't climb and strangle plants in the spring, so you can let it do it's thing until it dies back, getting seeds, pea mulch and the nitrogen it leaves behind. The young tendrils are fat and delicious as well, but don't bother eating the pods or the peas themselves. Since this isn't bred for that purpose, I don't count that against it, as it does the job it was bred to do fantastically. The flowers are also nice ornamentals, and it's a basically zero maintenance plant for me in zone 7b. Also great duck and chicken food.
