What are the pros? Easy to grow, pretty, yummy

What are the cons? None

Review:

I had no idea what lemon balm was, but gave it a try, starting it in mini-pots, where it germinated well. I planted it in five places in the garden, and it grew happily in all of them but best in the one with the most light and heat (it has not been a very hot summer here, though). It grows densely in a shapely mound until it is ready to flower and then of course thins out a bit. So far, pests have not bothered it, although a neighbor across town said katydids attacked hers. As other reviewers have said, the fragrance of lemon when you brush up against it in the garden is a delight. I love throwing lightly chopped leaves of lemon balm into a salad.

Review:

One of my absolute favorites of all the mint type plants Very versatile. My favorite thing to pick in the garden because of the lovely smell. Anyone who picks it is shocked how much it smells like lemon.

What are the pros? easy to grow

What are the cons? nothing

Review:

For people like me who love mints and balms you will love how this taste, it grows and spreads so id plant in a garden box or pot, but year after year it produces and if you sell it its a great money maker. The taste fresh from pulling leaves has a hint of lemon and I love eating this fresh, I also will pull leaves and wash them and then add them to hot water and make tea. well worth you buying the seeds to start your own and the smallest packet of seeds will produce you many plants after a few years.

What are the pros? scent, bee attractant

What are the cons? spreads

Review:

Grow this in a container as it will spread! But do grow it because the lemony scent is delightful and the bees will flock to your garden. I had huge slug and earwig problems this year but they left it alone. Great for drying. Easy to save seeds.

What are the pros? Yield,Smell,

What are the cons? Weed like

Review:

So this is actually a type of mint. I planted this in my yard last year and it GREW. Even throughout winter but soon realized that it would start to take over if left unchecked. When we pulled it from the ground and potted it we actually thought that it was dead. Now its growing back in the pot that we had but its also growing back in the area we had originally. My advice is to plant in a pot or else!
