Dwarf types with fruits ranging from dessert types to plantain (cooking) types. Height ranges from 6-14 feet in most cases, making these suitable for large container culture. This crop is easy to grow in the South and produces fruit rather quickly. Some varieties have green fruit and some red. You can grow these as far north as zone 8 with protection or in heated greenhouses or sun-rooms farther north. We love growing bananas in our Missouri greenhouse and get a crop in around a year. We offer 3 assorted small plants for $15.00

Please consider these terms before ordering live plants:
Most plants will be 3”-7” in height. Plants will ship as available after the first of March to the end of
May. We will try to ship orders to southern zones first. No guaranteed exact delivery dates. Plants may
arrive too early and have to be kept inside until the weather warms. Plants may arrive late, as well.
Due to the sensitive nature of small plants, there is the possibility of a crop failure. If such a situation
occurs, we will do our best to issue you a refund in a timely manner. Last minute losses can occur at
any point in our shipping timeline, and we may have to issue a refund even late in the season. No

orders shipped outside of the USA. No Extra shipping costs; you just pay our regular $3.50. (PRE-ORDER PLANTS WILL SHIP AFTER MARCH 1, 2018)

What are the pros? Not root bound, great variety

What are the cons? Very small pups

Review:

I recieved dwarf namwa, dwarf Maoli, and dwarf cavendash. I am so far happy with my assortment as I was hopping for namwah or blue java and I got at least the namwah. My cavendish was very small no more than 2 inches tall with 2 very small leaves on it, my namwa was a little bigger at maybe 4-5” tall with 3 leaves and my Maoli was about 5” tall with a new leaf shoot started, it looked to be the healthiest of the 3. They are all potted for the moment until they grow a little bigger so the dogs don’t stomp on them. They are slow growing at the moment but they seem to have been air pruned or at least weren’t root bound by a pot when I got them so I’m hoping they will show some growth soon. Some seem to not like the fact they can’t choose but I loved the surprise.

What are the pros? Healthy roots, plant size

What are the cons? No ability to select varieties

Review:

I received 6 banana Plants with our order of bananas. The varieties were Dwarf Cavendish, Dwarf Green and Dwarf Namwa. They were very healthy and large ~7" and had a good root system. I was hoping that ordering 2 would get more varieties but we received 2 of each variety. I am happy with the varieties we did receive and the shape they arrived.

What are the pros? Came safely packed and healthy

What are the cons? none

Review:

I just received my 3 Dwarf Bananas and they arrived happy, healthy and carefully packaged. The three that Baker Creek sent are Dwarf Namwa, Dwarf Cavendish and Dwarf Orinoco. They're all potted up now in 5 Gallon Grow Bags and from there, they'll go into the ground (probably closer to fall). I'm thrilled to have them and excited to try growing Bananas!

What are the pros? they look good

What are the cons? wish they would let you choose

Review:

I'm writing a premature review. The package just arrived with my banana assortment. Just letting you know what varieties I got since they don't tell you in advance.what you might get. Dwarf namwa, Maoli, and dwaft cavendish. They all look very healthy. I wish they would let you choose varieties because I would have ordered more if there were additional varieties. I am happy with this selection..

What are the pros? Hardy plants

What are the cons? None

Review:

I live in WV which is to cold for banana trees so I put them in pots so I could bring them inside for the winter. Two of them are in small pots and they are still small plants, 2-3' tall. The third plant I put in the only large pot that I had at the time and it is nearly 6' tall now. I planted them in May and it is now December and they are in front of my kitchen windows. They never have liked direct sunlight and they seem to be thriving at they're new window home. I love having them in the house even though walking through the kitchen is an obstacle course. I'm very excited to eat my homegrown bananas whenever that time may come!
