Cute little compact plants are only 6-10” tall and are great for growing in containers. It has a spicy, slightly anise flavor and is a must for Greek cooking.

What are the pros? Wonderful plant!

What are the cons? No dislikes

Review:

This is the first time I grew the Greek Basil. It was amazing! I grew it hydroponically among some other herbs. This basil was 9 to 10" tall, so full that it almost formed a globe. Leaves were in perfect shape with no noticeable pests munching anywhere. I harvested it over Memorial Day Weekend and made pesto. The one plant produced 4 packed cups of basil leaves and top stems. Just after a few days, it's hard at work growing more stems and leaves. I added a few basil leaves from a different variety and what I noticed was that the Greek Basil top stems were very tender and the other basil stems were very woody. To me, you're able to use more of the plant in your food preparation. Flavor of this basil was mellow and full of sweet basil aroma, a wonderful flavor. Other varieties of basil have a sharp taste and stronger aroma. By far, this was one of the best pesto's I've ever had. I look forward to growing this many more times.

Of all the basil varieties I have grown , this one is the best tasting . Petite and very pretty plants , as described on the pack . They are doing great in partial shade , around 4 hours sun. Highly recommend this variety .

What are the pros? Great flavor, easy, compact

What are the cons? None

Review:

SC, Zone 7 We grew so much of this basil all year, we were giving plants away in the summer. The plant is compact with smaller leaves than other basils, so plant as many as you have room for as each plant will produce more leaves if you harvest less than 1/3 of any single plant at one time. We paired this with tomato like other basils in italian dishes primarily. Strangely, a friend suggested trying a leaf with dark chocolate - it really brings out the minty qualities! Delicious!

What are the pros? fast germination

What are the cons? nope.

Review:

This is my favorite basil. It's easy to grow outdoors or indoors and it's short, so perfect for lamps. It is very aromatic and flavorful. Germination time is only a few days and seed collection is very easy. The small leaves are perfect for salads or cooking when fresh and dry quickly (about 2 weeks to completely dry). It holds up in full sun during the Florida summer and also tolerates shade very well. I can harvest fresh basil from only my plants daily for months. All around, a great herb.

After harvesting a few things from the greenhouse, I decided to put fresh chopped Greek Dwarf Basil on my Garlic bread this morning, wow what a flavor boost to start the day! Great flavor.
