Review:

2015 was the second season of growing these. In 2014 I got no fruit at all, though the vines flowered like it was going out of style. This year, in a much messier and busier garden, I all but forgot about them (I had four other melon varieties this year). They were not the fastest growing plants and were the last of the five varieties to produce a melon; in fact I'd forgotten they were even out there until I was rooting around one day looking for cucumbers and there was a perfect green Bateekh hiding out under the leaf cover. Turns out the vines like climbing, though the melons will get pretty big so you'd need some extra support for them. Hard to tell when it was ripe: I picked the first one too early--not much flavor, but what a heady aroma! Second one I let go until the skin lost its bright green color (the picture above is good) and it was very tasty, second best melon this year: not overly sweet, just a very nice flavor. Will grow again.
