Beni Kodama Watermelon

One of the earliest maturing watermelons of all, a pocket-sized watermelon from Japan. Perfect for short season gardeners; extra small fruit averages just 2-3 pounds. These mini melons are ideal for those super short season gardens, and the personal sized fruit are ideal for marketing or home use. This darling little fruit is green with dark stripes, and the sweet flesh is red.

What are the pros? Easy to grow with high yield

What are the cons? Hard to tell when ripe.

Review:

The picture on the website shows a small melon being held in the palm of two hands. My melons grew abit larger but it was hard d to tell if they were ripe. I picked one and it was ripe inside but white. Two weeks latter I pick another and the same thing. I wish there was as more info before purchasing.

What are the cons? None

Review:

Fast producing, prolific fruit. I love this plant! I bought this because I like the idea of a fast producing watermelon. It does not disappoint! I have several small buds and a few bigger ones that are growing quickly. They are really cute and small fruit. I am excited to harvest my first one soon.
