Purple

I have 36 of these planted in an Aquaponic system. All are flowering and have been for 3 weeks. so far only 3 ball bearing size tomatoes. My other tomatoes, beefsteak are producing like crazy! This is a test as I also have black lettuce that is going nuts. I wanted to be able to present these to the higher end resturants but I can only show the lettuce. Too bad as I think the 2 would be great sellers.

Grew these in Toronto Ontario on a balcony in 5gl buckets. Hot full sun, water once a day, twice on heatwaves. All items I grow are in containers and all my reviews are bias towards that. I liked the idea of these tomatoes and grew them for my balcony garden and my friends garden plot. They tasted better in the plot vs container but bother plants yielded lower then other plants and took up a lot of room. My friends garden got ransacked by white fly's however i did not notice any pests, some disease but not until later on. The colour is main reason for growing, and its nice, but the taste and yield is not that spectacular to continue growing them for another year. Donated extra seeds and plants to city planters. Note on the taste, it is like a brown tomato, earthy and rich.

I was picking these from the neighbors garden. He wasn't that impressed with them and I had a little black gold mine on my hands. They are delicious as fried green tomatoes and in fresh chopped salsa. Then I mentioned that I was eating them green and all of a sudden the big ones disappeared and the little ones were getting thin. It's a good thing they are so prolific. Not my favorite when ripe but what a treat when green.

I terminated my seeds mid-December and put my transplants out mid February. My two tomato plants are over 8 feet tall now. In comparison to the six other plants I have they are more than double in size. The two tomato plants have over 100 tomatoes on them of all sizes. Do you like Beauty Tomatoes really do grow like weeds. They do not like being over-watered so if you see some bottom leaves curling a little stop the watering and they will thank you for it. We cannot wait for them to completely ripen so we can try some of them

I loved the information and reviews for this Tomato. However I have had nothing but trouble so far trying to get them to grow. I use 300w full spectrum grow lights. So far they are struggling to grow and look distorted. Many were stick tight. Very small compared to all the other varieties I am growing. Hoping it kicks in soon and I get at least one good plant. I love baker creek seeds though and I will keep trying but as of now it is just not doing well
