What are the pros? beautiful and easy to grow

What are the cons? Took all summer to mature

Review:

These are great carrots. Despite my brown them, these were one of the few things that grew for me this year. I was able to make plenty of stews out of them and they turned my soup and every vegetable in it a beautiful purple color

What are the pros? Delicious and tender

What are the cons? See below

Review:

These carrots are really tender, even when they're left in the ground long enough to develop rootlets everywhere. And the taste is very good. I love that they stay purple even when cooked. It's funny, in the picture they look white inside, but mine were dark purple all the way through. They didn't thrive in all parts of my raised bed, however, and I'm not sure why. I wish I had more of them but will plant more next year for sure. I'm not sure how well they keep, however - I'll find that out soon enough.

What are the pros? tasty

What are the cons? some sent up unbrels from seed

Review:

these are lovely carrots...i can tell mine had the potential to be long and delicious carrots but because i didn't thin the chards and beets in my scattered garden around them they probably had to compete too much for light and space...those that grew their roots went long but didn't grow much thicker than a thin pencil some with stubby tops...they are hairy and so i wouldn't eat them straight from the garden but are yummy once peeled...didn't harvest enough to try them cooked but hoping to next year...will add these to my collection of purple carrots to grow

What are the pros? Amazing dark purple color

What are the cons? OK flavor

Review:

These are so fun - my young daughter ends up with purple smeared all around her mouth when she munches on one. The taste is fine, not the sweetest of my carrots but will absolutely keep growing for the awesome color. Yes, they are hairy. Same experience with the (also deeply colored) pusa red. I just shave the hairs off with the side of a knife, or peel.

What are the pros? Dark purple color

What are the cons? Lots of root hairs

Review:

Very fun purple carrot that is not orange in the center. Kids love the color. Our 17 month old kept asking for more "Blue! Blue!" at the dinner table. Small carrots / thinnings tend to be mostly white in the center, but the more mature ones will be mostly dark purple.
