What are the pros? Beautiful color

What are the cons? N/a

Review:

We started these early this spring and just harvested. We had an unseasonably HOT spring, and these are the only ones of three varieties that did well anyway! They are gorgeous in color and I would definitely recommend them to those in warmer climates

What are the pros? Very Dark Color, Super Interes

What are the cons? Bumpy and Hairy

Review:

It's still early, but we already started harvesting a few. They are super good cooked and raw. Beware, in a chicken roast your drippings and gravy will turn quite dark! Best part is hearing my 4 year old try to say Black Nebula. Hilarious. Downside is they are a bit uneven, bumpy, and very hairy. Not a huge issue, but takes a little more work in the kitchen. Overall I will definitely grow these again. Shameless plug for Baker Creeks Cosmic Purple! Best carrots we have ever grown! Try them!

What are the pros? easy to grow, great color

What are the cons? slightly woody

Review:

Well it's mid-june and almost all of the greens are over 2 foot high. The fastest grower in the carrot patch by far. Pulled one today to check maturity and it's already got about 1" thick fruit! Incredible color, the base of the greens are also black. Looking forward to a full harvest later in the summer and perhaps a second crop if the weather holds out. Direct-sowed in April, in mounded rows of a container garden (55 gal metal drums cut in half and set sideways, like a trough). Thinned to 1 plant per 2" about.

These carrots are delicious!! Even my husband loved them and he isn't a huge carrot fan. That's a great endorsement.

What are the cons? They are hairy

Review:

Let me preface with: I'm not the best carrot grower, but I keep trying and I do get better every year. I have never tried black nebula carrots before. Just harvested my first bucket last night of these black nebula carrots. (How can you resist buying carrots that are called black nebula carrots? It's just fun to say. I feel like I'm in a special club--"I grow black nebula carrots, what do you grow?) Mine were not super big but they were plenty big enough to snack on. Their colors were absolutely amazing!! Some of the carrots had a white center and some of the were purply-black all the way through. GORGEOUS!!! AND they dye too! (my hands!! SSOOO COOL!!) They taste like regular carrots and had a good crunch too. Thank you, Rare Seeds! :)
