What are the pros? none

What are the cons? Didn't get any melons

Review:

This plant didn't grow well, the vine grew to about 2 feet long and then stopped. Two small melons appeared on the plant, but then they rotted. My garden is actually very well suited for watermelon: I got 18 watermelons from 3 vines when growing Charleston Gray! I highly recommend Charleston Gray. So maybe this plant grows well in cool climates, but not in Texas.

What are the pros? Great flavor

What are the cons? Nothing

Review:

I grew three plants and transplanted them into two 10 gallon containers. They really need bigger space if you have it, but I don’t so I tried this. I got one melon from each plant, the largest was the plant that had the container to itself, the other two were small, about grapefruit size. I grew them next to a trellis and hung the melons with some fabric. No pests or problems, easy to grow, sweet. Will definitely grow it again.

What are the pros? Did not succumb to pests

What are the cons? Seeds, seeds, seeds

Review:

This was our first time growing watermelon and enjoyed this variety. We got about 10 8lb fruits from a few plants and were happy with the flavor but not with the number of seeds in each - every bite was full of them. It is an open pollinated variety, after all, so we took what we got and ultimately juiced the lot, making delicious watermelon drinks for several weeks. We may grow this again, but might look for a variety suited for growing in the north but with a little less crunch.

Review:

2018 is the first time I ordered and grew this watermelon. It was easy to grow from seed, took to my garden soil very well, and produced an excellent melon. The melon grew to about the size of a volleyball with dark green rind, deep red super sweet flash. Excellent! I am very surprised to grow such a delicious melon in the North East.

Review:

We just picked our first watermelon and it was delicious. And the perfect size to split in half and eat with a spoon. No waste. This is a winner
