What are the pros? Little bitterness after frost
What are the cons? Flea beetles and cabbage worms
I grew this variety of kale for three years and highly recommend it. Even three year old seed germinated well enough. After two frosts blue curled Scotch looses most of the bitterness and is edible raw. A few plants will survive my Z6 winter every year to flower in the spring, but I don't save the seed due to cross pollination concerns. Insects love this kale (and all my other brassicas) so I consistently spray neem oil to keep the insects off.
