What are the pros? Flavor
What are the cons? Ripening Time
Yes! It's worth the space and time. This flavor is very reminiscent of the tangy-sweet-umami hybrid tomato flavor folks pursue in the popular beefsteak commercial types. Yet the difference here is far superior texture and seed saving. I can tell that this was the tomato that commercial growers used to develop all of the popular hybrids you have today in the two hybrid BB tomatoes. Its like the granddaddy of both. I cannot say enough about the flavor. It sets itself apart from all and it has a lingering effect! Its not a sugar sweet, but a floral sweet with a tang. Just great with a small pinch of salt! Tough vines too! They grow extremely well in the South!
Grow 10 of these plants and enjoy them all season long.
