What are the pros? tasty and big
What are the cons? doesn't like variable weather
I planted these on March 15, directly into my south facing raised bed. It was filled with top soil, cow manure, blood meal, bone meal, and green sand. We have short springs, and variable weather (hot-cold-hot-cold) in St Louis in spring, so I didn't have much luck. I got a few large snow peas. However, I got way more flowers than I got peas. I don't know if it was the weather, or lack of pollinators. (I'm planting a pollinator garden this year). Next year, I'll try an earlier variety, and plant in February and figure out some way to protect them from frost. I just removed them from the garden today, because they were covered in mildew.
