What are the pros? Beautiful greenery

What are the cons? 95 days to mature

Review:

Fall in the southeast US is warm so the first of the sprouts are flowery. Then we have a bit of cold and I get a few tight sprouts. Then, the warm air hits again (it's Feb. now) and the buds begin to be flowery again. 25 years ago, I could grow Brussel Sprouts without any problem. Unless I can find one that matures faster, I may have to give up on Brussel Sprouts altogether. I will say, I washed some of the greenery for cooking, and when I was finished, the water in the sink was an amazing, healthy green color. Like I read from another reviewer, the greenery may be the way to go here in the warm south.

What are the pros? Can grow in cooler weather

What are the cons? Never formed edible heads

Review:

I planted these in September - it's now December 30th and they still haven't formed heads. They germinated fast but haven't done much since. We've had a very cold & wet fall/winter for Oregon so maybe that has something to do with it but I thought for sure I'd be serving this for Thanksgiving dinner. I haven't put much effort into growing them because we have had so much rain. I haven't yanked them - waiting to see if they take off in ~February. In the meantime, I'm single handedly keeping the slugs fed over the winter.

What are the pros? na

What are the cons? no production

Review:

This is the second year I am attempting to grow Catskill brussel sprouts. The first year the buds opened up, perhaps due to the early heat here in Arizona. However other gardening friends had no issues with their brussel sprouts out here. This year, I still do not even see the formation of buds. It is too late to replant out here, because we get hot so early, but I will be trying the red rubine and gronginger next year.

What are the pros? Taste Great! Grew huge

What are the cons? none

Review:

We couldn't wait for the brussels since we jus had to try the leaves. They were too perfect! That was a mistake since we couldn't stop. These plants have such beautiful, sweet, thick leaves that were simply amazing saut?ed with onions garlic..sometimes raisins, nuts and/or ginger sesami oil. The combinations were endless. Very hardy plants and they grew beautifully. I bet the actual sprouts would have been super tasty too. Planted again this winter just for the greens :)
