Grew for the first time in 2012 in the Atlanta area. Best tasting melon I have ever had. Split easily and I probably lost 50% of the melons because of that. Disease resistance is low to non-existance so the window of when they are ripe and when the summer heat and disease take it toll is only about 3 weeks for me. Somehow that makes the ones you do get taste better, reminds me of the times when you could only get fresh fruit and veggies when they were in season for where you live (instead of coming from Chili or whereever). Doubling the amount I will grow this year
