Lovely, lavender-pink-shaded pods measure 12”-18” long and are crisp and flavorful. The vigorous vines produce loads of tender Chinese beans. Very popular here at Baker Creek and sure to become a favorite of gourmets everywhere! A real standout that is quick to come into production.

Review:

Planted tqi different patches of them and thwy were both very productive in my hot florida garden. Was able to eat a healthy portion damnnear everynight for 2 months. Aphida did take a liking to one of the patch and once that was controlled a rogue Iguana ate all he could reach. Then rats got to liking other patch. Still producing today and was able to get some dry pods that i will plant in a week or so to groq all summer

Review:

100% germination. Sowed some seeds in a 22 inch pot on the deck. Started off like gang busters but then got some kind of blight after a heavy summer storm. I was so disappointed and was afraid it might be too late in the summer to try again but I figured all I had to lose were some bean seeds. I tucked some into the corners of one of my raised beds. They sprung up in a hurry and I had beans for the remainder of the summer. Love the flavor. Great for stir fry. Will plant them again.

What are the pros? good taste

What are the cons? fibrous as matures

Review:

First time growing in 2016. Germination was fair. Not the most vigorous. If harvested young has good flavor and interesting appearance. If allowed to mature quickly turns leathery and fibrous. Not nearly as productive and Chinese Long or Purple Podded Pole. My go to is the Purple Podded Pole bean. Won't grow again.

What are the pros? Productive, tastes great

Review:

Out of all the beans I grew this year, these beans were my favorite! The flavor was outstanding. I lightly sauteed them with coconut oil, onions, salt and pepper. Then I added chicken broth to the pan and simmered till tender. I grew a green long bean also. They tasted good, but did not have as good flavor or texture as these beans. The plants were productive in an 8" round plastic flower pot with a tomato cage for support. I liked that you only needed to pick about 8-10 beans for two people. These beans are a keeper in my garden.

What are the pros? good tasting and easy to grow

What are the cons? none

Review:

Easy to grow and we love the flavor of these beans. We have tried several different long beans and like the flavor of these best so far. They produce for us from middle summer to first frost. They are easy to pick as they stand out with their color and hang down long. We have ants on the vines, but they mind their own business and don't bother us. I'm sure they must serve some purpose. Even if I miss picking them when tender and they get older and tough, I can shell the beans inside and they are tasty too. Beans freeze well with a little blanching. Can't wait for summer so we can enjoy them.
