What are the pros? Low maintanance and tasty
What are the cons? Slow growing
I started these indoors in march. They germinated quickly. As opposed to a lot of the other reviewers I did not find the seedlings delicate at all. In fact, they were treated rather rough when potting on and I did not have time to harden off before planting them outside in mid May. I covered them with fleece and hoped for the best. We had frost a few days later. Most of the plants lost quite a bit of foliage, but all but one survived and they are now ready to harvest.
The flavor is wonderful. Much better than ordinary celery imo. Thrives in slightly cooler wheather. I'm in Norway and this is doing well here in spite of a cold and wet spring. Slow growing, probably 100-120 days until maturity, so patience is necessary.
