What are the pros? Fast growing, delicious, showy
What are the cons? Flea beetles love this variety
This is one of my favorite heirlooms. It is a fast producer and always the first to ripen. The tomatoes are medium sized and very tasty! It is a showy tomato that is sure to turn heads ;)!

What are the pros? Heavy yields/ Amazing taste
What are the cons? some cracking
These were our first red tomatoes of the season. They even ripened before the short season determinate tomatoes. The taste is amazing and the plants were heavy setting even in our very short growing season. The taste is sweet, not mealy, and slightly smoky. We did have some cracking on a few of the tomatoes, but it was only about 10% of the total yield and was likely due to overwatering on my part. We planted 12 different heirlooms this year with 4 plants each to see what would grow well in this region. By far chocolate stripe is the winner and will be mass planted in our garden next year.

What are the pros? Traste, taste, color.
What are the cons? Delicate
So they damage easy, the bugs love them, and crack. But they produce tons, taste soooo good and have good size. A couple csa members go crazy over them each week. The taste is great.

What are the pros? flavor, hardiness
What are the cons? none
We have grown these for 3 years and will keep planting them in the future. Hardy plants, we rarely lose them to blight compared to other strains and the compact plants put out large amounts of medium-large tomatoes. The tomatoes make an amazingly dark and sweet canned salsa and are great on sandwiches or just by themselves.
Often it is the first ripe tomato in the garden also.
Highly recommend this tomato!
What are the pros? tasty, small plants
We have grown these for 2 years in our garden and we will continue to plant them. Small plants but heavy amounts of tomatoes, awesome in salsa or sandwiches. When we had other tomatoes with blight these tended to outgrow the blight and keep producing after other varieties had died.
