What are the pros? easy to grow. smell.
What are the cons? none
This basil got huge. I put somein some boiled pinstriped peanuts and I think it added a nice flavor. I haven't noticed a cinnamin smell or taste. It's more lemony to me but it's nice and I got it for free!

What are the pros? Outperformed itself
What are the cons? Flowered quickly
I will be growing this every year! I received it as a free seed pack with my order and almost didn’t plant it. So glad I did! The beautiful purple flower spikes attracted a variety of pollinators. The bees were all over this stuff. The smell is pretty wonderful and it tastes great! Not sure if I can go back to plain basil now. This stuff grew into massive bushes when I transplanted them closely together to grow as a “hedge” row. Wish I could share pics, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

What are the pros? Grows Well & Hummingbirds
What are the cons? Not a Thing!
This is oddly one of the BEST flowering plants for attaching hummingbirds! They REALLY like the purple flowers! I think this basil's aromatic smell in the garden has also helped keep bean beetles away! I could be wrong, but the beetles were not as numerous this year around the basil! I will test this possible theory again next year! At any rate -- a lovely basil to grow!
What are the pros? Early Germination, Grew Fast
What are the cons? None
This was the first thing to germinate in my garden. Definitely direct seed this because transplants can damage it. It was extremely productive, slow to bolt, tasted great, and resistant to pests. It tasted a little different but I could use this in place of regular basil.
What are the pros? Delicious, Aromatic
What are the cons? A little hard to grow
I got one plant to grow and so glad it survived. I love this much better than regular basil and I like regular basil plenty. It has a very fruity scent and lends well to watermelon or tomato salads. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely grow again!
