Spicy flavor. Mexican variety with a distinct cinnamon-like taste.

What are the pros? Early Germination, Grew Fast

What are the cons? None

Review:

This was the first thing to germinate in my garden. Definitely direct seed this because transplants can damage it. It was extremely productive, slow to bolt, tasted great, and resistant to pests. It tasted a little different but I could use this in place of regular basil.

What are the pros? Delicious, Aromatic

What are the cons? A little hard to grow

Review:

I got one plant to grow and so glad it survived. I love this much better than regular basil and I like regular basil plenty. It has a very fruity scent and lends well to watermelon or tomato salads. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely grow again!

What are the pros? scent

What are the cons? weak plant, slow-grower

Review:

Good germination, but they grew slowly and seemed to come down with something before I transplanted them out. After that, they still did not thrive until summer. Now they are healthy, but continuing to grow slowly compared to the Emily basil. Cinnamon has an exotic aroma reminiscent of licorice.

What are the pros? Pollinators, prolific, flowers

What are the cons? Taste

Review:

I don't like the taste of it, either before or after flowering... BUT the hummingbirds and pollinators absolutely love it so I'm keeping it strictly for them. I'll grow it again and again for that reason alone. Plus the purple flowers are just beautiful.

What are the pros? Delicious smell and taste!

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is a great spicy basil for tea and liquers. A bit milder than Blue Spice, but sweet, with no sugar added. It does definitely have a cinnamon taste... Pretty purple flowers that the bees loved! Willl plant lots next to the hives next year... Thanks for the gift! Will always plant this one...
