What are the pros? Big and prolific

What are the cons? Needs a lot of love

This pumpkin tried its dang best with what I didn't do for it. Planted it in new soil, sorta amended and sorta watered. I attribute both problems to my laziness. These plants grew at the bottom of my newly extended garden and the sprinkler couldn't reach them very well. They mostly drank the water that was draining down the hill. I did mulch their hills, but a little too late as I couldn't get around the vines to mulch better. Very dry California summer, drought and all. These poor plants did the best they could, producing several large orange pumpkins just like the photo. But half of them were dry and rotting from the inside out. The other half died out on my porch before Halloween, tossed 'em. Planted them in spring, they were ready by August... dang it! If I took care of these guys better, they would have been fantastic! So just so you know, take care of your pumpkins and they'll take care of you!
