Bush, 50 days. A superb bush bean with huge yields of excellent-quality pods. Earlier than most others & perfect for market. Intro. 1949.

What are the pros? fast, high density growing

What are the cons? NONE

Review:

Mistakingly planted these with pole bean spacing (6in between plants), really thought we would face disease problems, but these guys are just pumping out fruit like crazy with no issues! 16 feet (with my mistaken spacing) has produced 6lbs in the past 3 days (54th day since sowing). No issues with deers, but we typically do not have that issue, Japanese beetles seem to gravitate towards the pole beans but not these (not sure the real reason, but one less plant I have to pick beetles off). We keep up with neem oil but nothing special so far to keep these guys healthy. Will be switching to these for all green bean production next year for sure!

What are the pros? Easy, productive, resilient

What are the cons? None

Review:

What a wonderful performing variety this is! I decided to give a bush type a try this year and I think I’ll be growing contenders from now on. This variety seems much more resilient than other kinds I’ve tried in the past.

What are the pros? Everything

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew these beans as my new ones introduced last spring. I was not dissatisfied at all. Great germination rate, heavy producers, will grow large pods without losing much flavor. The only con I would say is they die off around mid July.

What are the pros? productive

What are the cons? deer love them

Review:

These plants did very well especially since the deer eat the leaves off them every few days. The plants still gave us lots of beans. Great variety, I will definitely grow them again.
