This one is causing excitement in home gardens and at farmers markets. Carrots have bright purple skin and flesh that comes in shades of yellow and orange. Spicy and sweet-tasting roots are great for marketing.

What are the pros? Astounding taste!

What are the cons? none

Review:

Baker creek sent a free pack of these seeds with my order and I can't get over how delicious they are! I'm not crazy about carrots but they are good for you and add a nice color to veggie dishes. But this variety tastes exactly like maple syrup! I grew them in a semi-shady spot so they took some time to mature but oh my gawd how delicious! I'll never grow any other kind again!

If these are causing excitement in home gardens and at farmers markets, it's no wonder. They certainly are pretty! Better yet, they are easy to gow and have a wonderful flavor. This is the first time I have ever tried growing them, and it definitely won't be the last.

What are the cons? Fast Maturing , looks great

Review:

We planted 4 new varieties this year from Baker Creek. This one is our favorite. Even in areas of the patch that got less sunlight, these produced nice plump carrots. In prime sunlight, we got average 5"-6" carrots, but they were FAT! Great taste, great yields, gorgeous color. This has won a permanent spot in our carrot patch.

What are the pros? Taste, texture

Review:

Fairly quick carrots, after the garden stopped giving radishes, these could be thinned and sampled. Even small, they’re sweet and nutty, excellent sliced thin in a salad or on a cracker with cheese. I don’t have manure in the roots garden so these didn’t get huge but I’m sold. These next year as well.

Review:

Unusually hot spring, so my carrots started to bolt. I did gather about a pound a square foot though. Even small ones are sweeter than I expected. Will try again in the fall.
