This one is causing excitement in home gardens and at farmers’ markets. Carrots have bright purple skin and flesh that comes in shades of yellow and orange. Spicy and sweet-tasting roots are great for marketing.

What are the pros? Color, Size, Taste

What are the cons? None

Review:

I received a bonus pack of these with my order. I had previously had a rather bad experience with colored carrots so was a bit hesitant to try them again, but I figured since I had gotten the seeds for free there was nothing to lose and I decided to plant them anyway. Boy I'm glad I did! The carrots came in quite early compared to the orange carrots I planted, and they are HUGE - a few are close to ten inches long and two inches in diameter! Better yet, they taste incredibly sweet, much better than any carrot you can buy at the store. I've now been inspired to try more multicolored carrot varieties, but this one will be a mainstay in my garden from now on!

I've never had much luck with carrots but these grew fairly well. I love the colors and they taste good, a little sweet.

Review:

I love this carrot. It is so beautiful and grows better than the other carrots we tried. Our garden was full of weeds that we had a really hard time controlling but this beauty survived the unfavorable circumstances.

Review:

So I've tried probably 20 different types of carrots here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our biggest issues in the winter is rain, and in the summer is heat. This carrot handles it all. Its rained for (what feels like) months straight and these guys just power through it. They have out done all other carrot varieties. I'm not sure I would have ordered this carrot type so I'm forever grateful to Baker Creek that it was a free seed packet! I have a few packets (I order a lot of seeds) and when I'm through with them, I'll be ordering this seed. In the summer it didn't bolt like a couple other types have done. So its really just the perfect carrot for tropcial Hawaii. It tastes pretty good fresh, but my preferred method of eating it is roasted with olive oil, salt and pepper. I use square foot spacing for this carrot in my garden (16 per square foot) and use a lot of organic material, and plant in full sun. Grow this carrot, you'll be delighted like I was!

I have planted these twice. Once in the spring and once in the fall. Both times they produced abundantly. The germination rate was better than any other carrot I have tried. I really love the flavor of these carrots too.
