What are the pros? Colors are unusual for Cosmos
What are the cons? Poor at attracting pollinators
One of the best reasons to grow Cosmos is to attract a wide range of pollinators to the garden. I grew this variety for the fist time in 2017. Not only is it extremely weedy (even for Cosmos) it is so poor at attracting pollinators that I am about to pull the plants out before they go to seed. I am not impressed with the colors either I have planted it in raised beds next to vegetables. Cosmos is usually a riot of activity, covered in bees and all sorts of desirable pollinators. Oddly enough, this variety has none. NOT a winner in my book. Wasted valuable growing space. Lesson learned.
