Glowing pink tomatoes can grow to two pounds. They are definitely one of the very best. They start fruiting early and the yield is very heavy. The flavor is so sweet, they are absolutely yummy! This variety has been in one Missouri family for many years and was originally brought from Germany. Photo courtesy of http://www.abundantacres.net

What are the pros? Large delicious fruit

What are the cons? required manual pollination

Review:

I tried growing Daniel tomatoes last year and was disappointed with the pollination rate, ending up with only a dozen or so very large, tasty tomatoes. This year I decided to give them one more try. Again the pollination rate was poor so I did a little research on the Internet on how to pollinate stubborn tomatoes and learned about using an electric tooth-brush to increase pollination. I just touch the running toothbrush to the flowers for a second or two and now I have tomatoes producing from nearly every bract of flowers. Now I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all the tomatoes. They're a little extra work but the quality and flavor of these tomatoes makes it worth while. Hope this is helpful info.

What are the pros? Huge, lucious, small seed cavs

What are the cons? NOTHING

Review:

We purchased these several years ago from Baker Creek. We were devastated when they were discontinued. We've been saving our own seeds from the Daniels for years, but had run out. These are huge, luscious, consistent producers. Tomatoes rarely crack, even in wet conditions. Our family and market favorite!

What are the pros? Plants grow very big, quickly!

What are the cons? No fruits

Review:

I've been purchasing tomato seeds from Baker Creek Seeds for 5 years now. I purchased 5 different varieties this season, Daniels tomato being one of them. The plants grow very big with huge leaves and seem healthy with tons of flowers, but every single blosson dries up and the stems holding the blossoms turn yellow... Causing them to fall off. This is the first time this has happened and out of the 5 tomatoe varieties only Daniels tomato is doing this. I'm disappointed because I planted so many of these tomatoes but no signs of a harvest from them this year. Any advice about this would be much appreciated!
