What are the pros? Easy, early, lovely
What are the cons? Mature peas starchy, crowded
Like the other reviewers, I love these as fresh young pods in salads, where they add crunch, flavor, and color! The flowers of this bushy pea are the loveliest I know. Of course I also love to munch on the pods as I am gardening. Mature peas get very squished in the compact pods until they are almost little cubes--pretty funny. I don't eat these as shelled peas because they lose their sweetness before they reach a useful size. But I don't want my garden to be without them, either. They produced for quite a long time. My plants get maybe two and a half feet high in the dry climate where I live. I think they grow taller in more moist conditions.
