What are the pros? Easy! Beautiful!
What are the cons? none so far
We have a deck over the garage with east/south facing exposure and plants tend to get fried there. As with all things Baker Creek, the germination rate was nearly 100%. Portulaca just exploded when I transplanted it and it has been happily producing flower puffs with bright happy colors. The colors are amazing! It is growing in well draining (extra perlite) soil in a terra cotta pot. This usually dries out too fast for other plants here in an unusually hot summer for zone 3, but it's just shrugging off the dry heat, the cloudbursts, cool nights, etc. No bugs!
