Bush, 60 days. This famous Dutch heirloom bean has an incomparable flavor. The tender and superbly delicious 7” pods are yellow with amazing purple streaks! Also makes a tasty shelled bean. Popular with chefs and gourmets. Compact plants set high yields.

Review:

None better as far as I’m concerned. Must try them. I fry down some bacon/smoked sausage/Tasso with seasoning and half of a chopped onion....add dragon tongues and a couple inches of water. Cook them down on medium/medium high heat and don’t stand in people’s way or you might get trampled as they try to get to them. Do yourself a favor and try some...

What are the pros? Beautiful color/ great taste

What are the cons? none

Review:

These are by far the best beans! They grow fast, are super prolific, taste amazing, and are beautiful! Some pods are almost white while others are bright purple. The only downside is that when you cook them the pretty purple color fades. I highly recommend these beans. They are also perfect for canning. Last summer, I staggered plantings so that I could have them growing late into the summer. I'm in zone 7a and had no problems at all with the growing season.

Review:

These plants grew so fast, and started producing beans early in the spring. This is by far the best bean I have ever planted! Delicious raw and cooked! Great crisp texture! Dedicating more garden space this year to dragon tongue beans.

What are the pros? Flavor, Color... everything

Review:

This is simply the best bean we have ever tried! The plant produced flowers then fruit much sooner than any of the other varieties we planted this year. We have an extremely wet weather this summer but this little gem was not affected by it at all. The flavor is superb, my husband who literally hates "green beans" loved these and is excited every time I pull out a package of our frozen Dragon Tongues. Next year we are going to ditch the green variety entirely and are growing more of this instead!

What are the pros? high yield, incredible flavor

What are the cons? none

Review:

I received these seeds as a "freebie" this year and honestly wasn't thrilled when I saw them, but I am eating my words because they were AMAZING! In the past I have grown different varieties of bush beans and always had rather low yields and never really liked the flavor much, so I was hesitant to plant these (I almost gave them away!! GASP!). However, I decided to sow a few and keep an open mind. Along side them I planted my usual Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans and my husband and I now I wish I had planted my entire bed with the Dragon Tongue Beans because they were AMAZING! They were not only highly prolific, but they produced earlier than expected and as of 10/6 I still had beans AND BLOSSOMS on the vine!!! The flavor of these beans is INCREDIBLE (almost buttery) and no matter how long they sit on the vine they do NOT get stringy (can't say that about the KW). And the bean's themselves are stunning-a show stopper! These will definitely be a staple in the garden from now on!! THANK YOU!
