Exclusive listing with Baker Creek! We acquired this rare landrace from Coptic Christian communities in Upper Egypt. It is one of the most productive okras we have ever trialed. Most of the 6-foot plants produced as many as 23 to 25 pods each and will continue to yield the more you harvest. The average pod length is 6 to 8 inches when mature. Best when picked very young and tender. Drought tolerant, heat waves only make it grow more quickly!

What are the pros? Heat tolerant; productive

What are the cons? Low germination rate

Review:

I really loved this okra. Although only about half the seeds germinated, the plants grew well, were very productive, and tolerated triple digit, dry heat very well. They were the envy of all the gardeners at my community garden plot! Super tasty - we particularly loved them tossed in olive oil with a little bit of salt and grilled.

Review:

My update - I couldn't ask for better okra. We had a very hot and dry summer and these plants didn't miss a beat. They seemed to grow inches over night. Taste great! Saved two pods and got over 100 seeds for next year.

Review:

Started 18 seeds in cups. Transplanted them in 4ft by 6ft raised bead. 16 plants survived and now they are 2ft tall with big leaves and okra growing on all plants. I will update at the end of the season. Excited to see what happens.

Review:

Ok, i live in the tropics. The 12 seeds that i planted germinated 100% and within 3 days. Looks promising. I can't give it a full fating as yet since the seedings are about 2 inches tall now. I bet this okra variety loves the heat. I only plant heat loving plants since i live in the tropics. The only problem now is that what would i do with this much okra. I'll update on progress in a months time.
