This extra early variety produces long pods that are filled with 6 large pretty purple and sweet- tasting beans. A unique and colorful variety from Italy.

What are the pros? Cold hardy, great germination

What are the cons? Aphids

Review:

I really like these and i planted them in a windier position this year in hopes of keeping the aphids off. I have not had success in trimming off infected bits, plant doesn't seem to handle that well.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, great fava bean

What are the cons? None

Review:

Grew these in my winter raised beds. They were productive and were not infested with aphids like others I planted. These are my new favorite favas. I saved some seeds and they were a beautiful shade of violet! Going to grow them again in the spring. Bonus- the flowers are great in a salad.

What are the pros? Easy to germinate

What are the cons? Want to last longer

Review:

I bought these and live in the South. I knew it was a gamble but put the seeds in the freezer for two weeks, then let them come to room temperature and after soaked for two hours. Planted and bam...beautiful flowers (white with black spots). The Fava beans were wonderful and also found out the leaves are edible. This is such a pretty plant that I'm growing in my front yard to see how they will do through the summer. So far coming up fine.
