What are the pros? thin skin, tasty, prolific
What are the cons? some yellow eggplants
I've grown several varieties of Asian eggplant and this is turning out to be my favorite. A light lilac purple color, it is thin-skinned, making it ideal for stir-frying. I haven't tried roasting it. Occasionally some of the eggplant turn yellow and end up in the compost heap. This seems to happen more with over-ripe fruit if you don't pick them sooner; although sometimes the first fruits are misshapen and yellow. I just take those off and within a couple of weeks, the plant produces long, lilac-colored fruit.
Very easy to grown--I haven't had any pests attack my eggplant.
