Festival Fine Print: Rules and Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you change the registration and fee structure for the farm festivals?

Baker Creek has added many new greenhouses and gardens, and as a result, the space for parking is more limited. We encourage ride sharing and car pooling. We are requiring pre-registration of vehicles and a parking fee of $15 in order to make the best possible use of our available space. Parking passes will be mailed, and all prepaid parking passes will need to be shown at the festival entrance gate. Anyone with a lost pass, or who prepays for parking too close to the event to receive a pass in the mail, can verify with their name or confirmation email. Screenshots are fine. Any unpaid guests can pay for their parking space at the gate as long as capacity allows. Lots will be closed to unpaid cars as we near capacity in order to reserve space for prepaid guests, and will be reopened as spots reopen.

If I don't need a parking space, do I have to pay to get into the festival?

No. Pedestrians and others not requiring a parking space are admitted free.

Is a parking pass good for both days of the festivals?

Yes.

How will you accommodate handicapped parking?

There will be a designated handicapped parking area, indicated with signage, with a shuttle to the festival grounds. Be advised that while the seed store and buildings are wheelchair accessible, the terrain at the village and greenhouse areas is uneven.

May I camp at the festivals?

We have “primitive” camping at the rear of our lower parking lot, as weather allows. You may tent, RV, or trailer camp, but be aware this ground can be very soft in wet weather. Large camping vehicles are strongly discouraged. We do have 4 bathrooms at the end of the building closest to the camping area and there is a frost-free faucet for water. We do not have electricity available. You are welcome to arrive on Friday to set up camp, but the event area and Bakersville Village are closed on Saturday. You may have a small campfire if you bring your own wood and use safety measures while burning. Please be advised that the parking lots are prone to flooding in early spring, and trailers, and large, heavy campers are strongly discouraged.
