An assortment of some of the world’s most amazing and delicious fig varieties, with flavorful pink, green, or red flesh. Fruit will vary in size depending on variety. Figs are super easy to grow and most thrive outside in zones 7-11 and many people grow them farther north with protection. We get massive amounts of fruit each year in our small Missouri greenhouse. Figs are delicious for fresh eating but also make incredible jams, jellies, desserts, and are delicious in salads and main dishes as well! Young fig plants may need some protection even in zones 7-8 if the winter is harsh until they are well developed, but this can be easily done by either bringing them inside or wrapping them in cloth or landscape fabric. Includes 3 assorted small plants from 2 varieties.

Please consider these terms before ordering live plants:
Most plants will be 3”-7” in height. Plants will ship as available after the first of March to the end of
May. We will try to ship orders to southern zones first. No guaranteed exact delivery dates. Plants may
arrive too early and have to be kept inside until the weather warms. Plants may arrive late, as well.
Due to the sensitive nature of small plants, there is the possibility of a crop failure. If such a situation
occurs, we will do our best to issue you a refund in a timely manner. Last minute losses can occur at
any point in our shipping timeline, and we may have to issue a refund even late in the season. No

orders shipped outside of the USA. No Extra shipping costs; you just pay our regular $3.50. (PRE-ORDER PLANTS WILL SHIP AFTER March 1, 2018)

What are the pros? Cheap healthy plants

What are the cons? BIGGER!

Review:

I ordered last year and am tempted to do so again. All three of mine arrived as nice little plants--kept two and gave one away--the two I planted at home grew a fair amount and stayed healthy all summer. Worth it.

What are the pros? Hardy plants

What are the cons? None

Review:

My review may be a little premature being that we only just received these plants. They have taken off like mad and survived many tropical storms and a major hurricane completely intact !! They were very small, questioningly viable plants on arrival. Definitely smaller than stated they would be. We live in zone 9B and have zero soil, only sand. We dug small pits, lined them with coastal hay, mulch, compost and amended soil. The trees were dropped in and covered with more soil and surrounded by more hay and then an outlaying circle of moss to keep fry grass from invading the space. We did not fertilize. Already the Ischia is over 3 feet tall, full and beautiful in a matter of ... 5 months. The Little Ruby is a dwarf, extremely healthy and growing larger than anticipated in the short time that we have had it. The Olympia is doing well, not as aggressive as the other 2. In reading up on it, it may not love the extreme sunshine, humidity and hot FL summers. Give them a try !

What are the pros? Variety, grab-bag surprise

What are the cons? None, its FIGS!

Review:

My little plants arrived back in 2014 from Baker Creek. They were all in good health. My varieties were Ischia, Olympia, and Celeste (which I already have, and thrives around here) I transferred them to small containers immediately just to get them refreshed. They grew through a rather neglectful season of gardening when I was distracted with life, yet I tended them sporadically, watering when it was 100 degrees and making sure that, generally, they remained in good health. Fast forward to spring 2017. I planted the Ischia, a large and thriving bush, in its permanent place in my yard and its as healthy as a fig bush can be. My other two are strong, the Olympia will be planted later this year and the Celeste will be gifted, its a giant! If this is the hardiness of Baker Creek plants, I rejoice and cannot wait for my latest live plant purchases. I reviewed them on my blog with photos, not sure links are allowed but a search for "blackgumbo" and "figs" will get you there.

What are the cons? none

Review:

Received my three figs last year, and it was really a hot summer but they looked good but the Ischia was very small and tender and didn't make it., I emailed the picture and recieved another... Very healthy..., my figs are in gallon containers with organic soil., they lived thru the heat and survived the frost and cold and went dormant... They have popped out their leaves this march and look beautiful* I will put them in bigger pots very soon.... Thank you so very much*
