Crisp, thick-walled fruits are sweet and juicy. Almost a pepperoncini type, often pickled and occasionally having a hint of heat. Popular Italian market type reputedly originated on the sunny Mediterranean island of Sicily.

What are the pros? Prolific, Delicious & Striking

What are the cons? none

Review:

Seedlings germinated fine. Lost a few seedlings but that was gardener error. I am pretty rough when it comes to hardening my plants. Melrose was my favorite pepper but now I have a new one. My Figi's are very sweet and very richly flavored. There is no heat in these first peppers, perhaps later pickings? This pepper ripened a month after Melrose but before any of my yellow/orange/red bell peppers. So I would not consider this type of pepper as an early nor a late ripener. Highly recommend.

What are the pros? nice size, high production

What are the cons? takes a while

Review:

This pepper is a perfect size and the plant is a high production plant. The only downfall is (depending on the weather) it can take a while to mature. But if you live in a hot area, I am sure it grows quicker. I started seeds in February. It is August and they are about to mature. Beautiful size peppers and I can't wait to try them. Thanks!
