What are the pros? easy to grow once germinated
What are the cons? dull, hard to germinate
This is the second year in a row that I've grown these. Requires a hot pad for early germination in the Pacific Northwest; once they germinate, they're easy to grow. Two issues, though: (1) unlike most chilis, fruit begins to LOSE heat starting about six weeks after it sets. for peak heat, harvest just BEFORE they change color, not after! (2) fruit isn't especially hot, even at peak (<50,000 Scovilles). The bushes look lovely, but there are much more flavorful chilis whose harvest time is much less finicky.
