A wonderful, ornamental pepper. These compact plants have a wonderful bluish tinge and produce lovely, small violet-blue fruit that is quite hot. Production is heavy, thus creating a stunning display of color that can't be missed! Perfect for ornamental landscaping or in pots. So pretty.

What are the pros? easy to grow once germinated

What are the cons? dull, hard to germinate

Review:

This is the second year in a row that I've grown these. Requires a hot pad for early germination in the Pacific Northwest; once they germinate, they're easy to grow. Two issues, though: (1) unlike most chilis, fruit begins to LOSE heat starting about six weeks after it sets. for peak heat, harvest just BEFORE they change color, not after! (2) fruit isn't especially hot, even at peak (<50,000 Scovilles). The bushes look lovely, but there are much more flavorful chilis whose harvest time is much less finicky.

What are the pros? Great Lil' pepper

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is one of my favorites for pots or hanging baskets. But it also has a dynamite flavor. I made a Filius Blue Spicy BBQ sauce that is to die for. I think this would be an excellent pepper for homemade hot sauce, spicy ketchup, whatever you can imagine... I grow this pepper every year.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, heavy producer

What are the cons? Not too hot

Review:

I'm located in north Italy, right now in October, I still can count many peppers and lot of flowers! The first to bloom, every flower has had its pepper, you will join lot of colors together and flowers as well; I've had a second flowering in late September, when 12 degrees celsius and over were reached during the night. Still producing. Pepper are not so hot, really little, but quite good for people who are quite sensitive to hot peppers and like ornamental species.

Review:

Beautiful plant, easy to grow. Started indoors and grown hydroponically. Producing and prolific. Every seed sprouted and the plant is beautiful. Peppers are small and spicy, I am overwintering this one. I am growing several and this grew faster and produced more than peppers started much earlier.
