60 days. (RAINBOW CHARD) A beautiful chard, its colors are brilliant (pink, yellow, orange, red, and white). This chard originated in Australia. Very mild, ornamental, and tasty. Great for market growers and specialty markets. Pretty enough to plant in the flower garden; so delicious and one of our favorite greens!

What are the pros? Great color mix, cold hardy

What are the cons? none

Review:

We grow greens in our high tunnel throughout the winter and switched to this variety a couple of years ago. This mix has much better color variation then the rainbow mix which is standard everywhere else. This winter has been one of the coldest we have grow in with the temperatures getting below zero ever a two week period and temps in the high tunnel dropping into the low teens. This variety has done well despite all that and still is growing, growing slower but still growing! I really like the taste and productivity of this mix.

What are the pros? Germination, Colors, Easy

What are the cons? None

Review:

Quick germination. Most seeds germinated. Awesome colors with evenly distributed variety of colors. Here in Central Texas, I had good luck sowing directly in late September (still pretty hot). Plants survived a light freeze a few weeks ago. I keep 8 plants going at a time, and I continually harvest a couple of stalks from each plant at a time. I'm hoping they continue through winter and spring. First hard freeze is tonight. I covered my garden with old sheets and Christmas lights for heat, so I think they'll be fine. I space them 12" from each other.
