What are the pros? Large, Sweet, Easy to grow
What are the cons? None
I can't recommend these enough. They are very easy to grow, and we easily get the best yield from this variety. Typically we grow both these and Detroit Red each season. Both are excellent beets, but personally I prefer these. Unlike some other varieties, we've never had a problem letting them get very large - easily larger than a softball - while remaining sweet and tender. They just don't ever seem to get fibrous. Most of them will be canned, and a single row (which, in our garden, is about 60 ft) will produce enough to last us until the next harvest.
