What are the pros? Practically care free
What are the cons? none
I have a few gaillardia plants growing in my garden space, and I have found that they are actually perennial for me here in zone 7A. They are a magnet for the beneficial insects that help keep the bad guys away. i Agree with others here that say that you can basically just ignore them (other than perhaps a little bit of dead heading), and they will thrive! For those that seek to create a native plant garden in the U.S., this is a must!
