This yellow-orange heirloom cherry tomato from Siberia is one of the earliest around, but it also produces its 1" fruit throughout the summer into fall. Not as sweet as modern "Sun Gold" hybrids, this old heirloom has a great tomato flavor and beautiful color. The potato-leaved, indeterminate plants are healthy and productive, and perform equally well in cold areas as hot. Also known as 'Galina's Yellow.' Grown ecologically in New Jersey by the Experimental Farm Network.

What are the pros? Easy/Long harvest/No splitting

What are the cons? Not sweet, no much flavour

Review:

From many varieties grown this yeat this is my overal favourite. Low maintanance: did not bother to remove side shoots and it only seemed to increase yield, only grow about 3’ tall, so I only needed short canes to support it and plant did not grow heavy either so it did not collapse under its own weight as other varieties. I grew it overcrowded but it did not seem to mind that either. All the rest of the varieties (small fruited ones too) split but I had not one fruit on this that did so. Kids loved it, called it “lemon tomato”, that may for the colour but might well be because of the taste as it was a bit sour. Used it for making salsa and cooking, it was perfect for that. Definitely a keeper.

What are the cons? none

Review:

Grew this tomato for the first time this year. Our weather has been hot and dry for the Pacific Northwest and we have been plagued by smoke from local forest fires. But this tomato does not seem to be bothered by it all. It has produced a plentiful supply of beautiful orange tomatoes. They are extremely tasty and my only problem with them has been my Grandsons eating them off the vine. The plant was robust right from the start, not finiky at all and it produces beautiful ,tasty tomatoes. I will continue to grow this cherry tomato and highly recommend it.
