75 days. This variety lives up to its name. It can grow to be massive in good conditions. High quality heads with tight curds are great for marketing. Sends off plenty of side shoots after the main head is harvested.

What are the pros? Good strong germination.

What are the cons? Poor production.

Review:

Goliath broccoli was by far my favorite garden broccoli when it was carried by Burpee seeds many years ago. Since they were bought out and stopped carrying Goliath seeds several years ago I've tried buying them from a couple other suppliers with poor results. Originally I got a Goliath sized main head (some over a foot in diameter!!) with tons of large side shoots of broccoli afterwards. It held very long without flowering throughout the hot summers. It was truly an amazing garden broccoli! This new strain of Goliath doesn't even seem like it's the same variety. Barely have gotten a few tiny sprigs of broccoli from it despite the plant growing healthy. Tried growing it for a few years to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Seeds germination was great and plants grew well, but with very poor head production. The original Goliath seeds were relatively poor at initial germination, but really flourished once they got going. Hoping I may track down the original Goliath broccoli strain somewhere.

I started these inside and planted out early. 2-3 inches of snow came and frost. They survived and thrived . They produced until heavy frost in late autumn

What are the pros? Green healthy plants

What are the cons? Never produced

Review:

We planted this variety and had several great, healthy green plants that never produced a single head of broccoli! The plants had plenty of space and grew quite large, otherwise lovely. We are experienced gardeners, have had no trouble with broccoli prior to this year.
