What are the pros? Early and a good producer.
What are the cons? Small vines
Granny Cantrell did really well for us last year in a milder than usual summer. We found it to be an early tasty tomato with firm flesh and it was a good producer. The plants are shorter than other vining tomatoes and they behave more like a semi-determinant putting on a large flush of tomatoes early on rather than producing through the season. But perhaps their lack of productivity later in the season may be do to shading by much larger other varieties.
They were the first tomatoes to ripen along with Black Brandywine, Paul Robeson, and Cosmonaut Volkov.
I've noticed you've stopped offering seeds for this variety the last couple of years, so I'll be growing a few plants and saving seed from them.
