What are the pros? Can stand the heat and humidit

What are the cons? Odd insect damage

Review:

A good summer green for Louisiana - this is one of the very few plants that can withstand the summer heat and humidity here. Plants are sturdy, very productive, and grow over six feet tall. The leaves are a little rough so it needs to be cooked. Taste is spinach-like and pleasant but rather bland, so it needs seasoning help and takes it well. I find that okra, paprika, and a hot pepper or two complement the taste. The plant looks and grows, well, like a big weed. It gets an odd but not serious type of bug damage that I have also seen on local wild amaranth. It looks like either flea beetles or that the plant has been shot with #9 birds hot, but is neither. I don't know what it is.
