What are the pros? Excellent flavor

What are the cons? Toxic until ripe.

Review:

Very tasty berries. I stopped planting them due to the high toxicity of the leaves and unripe berries. My dog got into the garden and ate some leaves and vomited about 15 times in 2 hours. I thought she was going to die. I also have a lot of kids running around and don't want them to eat any accidentally.

What are the pros? prolific growth

What are the cons? long time before maturity

Review:

I was so surprised how well these plants have taken off! I had never heard of ground cherries in Idaho (or anywhere else for that matter!). I did some research and discovered that ground cherries are one of the first things to go in french markets. I knew I had to try to grow them! I haven't tried the berries yet, but the growth alone makes these plants worth the purchase!

What are the pros? VERY large plants!

What are the cons? None

Review:

My goodness! I had no idea how large these plants get! Mine are at least 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall! They started flowering shortly after transplanting to 5 gallon grow pots and producing little lanterns. Never grew them before but I’m on a mission to grow as much of my own food as possible. I was intrigued that I could grow berries on an annual plant so I tried them, WOW! I will be growing these every year from now on. Do not taste Berries before they are ripe, yep I did. Wait until they fall off bush and pop one in your mouth, yum!

What are the pros? Grandson loves them (sweet)

What are the cons? Small

Review:

I started these from seeds and put one plant in a pot, they turn yellow when ready and easy to pull off or they fall off them selves. My grandson loves opening them and finding the fruit inside, then he gobbles it up.

What are the pros? Flavor, Growth

What are the cons? Seedy

Review:

Pineapple-strawberry-tomato. Thats what these things taste like. Sweet with pineapple and a hint of strawberry-tomato-ey? Thats the only way I can describe. Nice sweet flavor with a tanginess to it. I definitely recommend it.
