Delicious, tender, white, 12” roots have a sweet flavor; refined in appearance. Great boiled, fried, or used in “Parsnip Bread.” A good producer and popular variety.

What are the pros? Kids liked them

What are the cons? Came in small

Review:

Another generously filled envelop of seed. These are slow growing, I pulled them when they theoretically ought to have been mature but they where rather small. They may have needed more time than I expected or lacked some soil nutrient. That said, I’ve never had parsnips before this. I cut them into spears and used them in tempura. My kiddo declared the parsnip the best of a half dozen vegetables I cooked in the mix. Planted out more and have plenty of seed to try some more next year as well.

Hardy, good germination, great inground storage when I cover with six to twelve inches of leaves cover with old window pain and clear off snow after it rain, harvested right up to next planting,Very good root formation and size ranged from 14 to 4 inches! After the first rew below 32 degrees it sweetens up the creamy flavor!

These parsnips germinated great and were very healthy. Very sweet, tender and delicious. They are keeping well in the garden and those I harvested this winter are even sweeter!
