This is, as its reputation says, a delicious scallion. I grew them for the first time last spring. They are fragile when young seedings, but just keep snipping the tops off as they are maturing indoors until they are ready to go outside. I cut mine every 3-4 days while indoors, and we enjoyed the snippings. Once outdoors they quickly sized up and gave us food all summer, fall, and winter. They did get a bit big and raggedy toward fall, so I cut them back and they grew new shoots. So far they have overwintered without any protection. These will always have a place in our garden.
