What are the cons? Slow to Germinate

Wonderful plant, wonderful fruits. Extremely tasty and extremely prolific. No pruning required and drip irrigation will suffice. Trellised plant about 3 feet off the ground to protect melons from insects. Its important to let these types of melons slip off the vine naturally, as in do not support these melons. They are all 3 pound fruits that have no issues with hanging naturally. Here in north Texas 60 mph windstorms are common and I never had any fall off the vine from such. This thing has put out 6 - 3 pounders already in early July. This is an 80 day melon for sure down to the last day. Use the slipping of these melons as a "garden clock", so that you know where everything else in the garden stands. 85 growing days should serve as an excellent indicator for all other plants in the garden. I'm a large man and I can barely eat half of one of these. This is due to the richness of the melon. Let fall off the vine naturally and then sit on counter for two days room temp. Enjoy!
