90 days. An orange-fleshed honeydew with exceptional flavor. Slightly oval shaped fruits average 5 pounds. Hailing from the Arkansas Valley of Colorado, Huerfano Bliss was bred for superb flavor, not shipping quality, making it best suited for home gardeners or local markets-- a real delicacy.

What are the pros? Productive

What are the cons? Small in size... Less than 3lb

Review:

Growing these Huerfano Bliss this year and yes they take a long time to ripen. I have about 6 fruits starting to turn a bit yellowish. They are small about 3lbs each fruit maybe less. Beautiful plat starting out, I haven’t harvested any yet to see how they taste maybe this following week I will be able to update on taste.

What are the pros? great taste

What are the cons? What's not to like?

Review:

Last year I planted Ineya, Kazakh and Huerfano Bliss. I planted them all at the same time and grew all of them on cattle panel trellis. Ineya and Kazakh produced first and did great. I'm very happy with them and will grow them again. Huerfano Bliss was a couple of weeks later, but was our favorite. The plants were beautiful and produced until frost took them out. They are ripe a few days after they turn deep yellow. The wonderful smell will tell you when they are ready. We live not far from Rocky Ford, Co. Huerfano Bliss was every bit as good as the Rocky Fords at the local farm stands, just a little smaller. It's a perfect size for two servings. I highly recommend these. Note: All three of these melon varieties are small enough not to need support for growing on a trellis. The vines get about 6 feet tall. Weave them in and out of trellis wires as they grow.
