What are the pros? Mild tasting. Ferments well.
What are the cons? none, except woody seed pod.
These are a marvelous radish. I grow all of my radishes in a bathtub to help with rodent control, and most of my daikons were harvested at a smaller, supermarket size, but I had several large ones including one that weighed in at two and a half pounds, with another pound of edible greens. It was about 2.5" in diameter, and about 18" long. I'm sure it would have just kept growing if I hadn't pulled it. It wasn't the least bit woody, and it was delicious! I fermented half of it kimchi style, but just ate the rest. It's a very mild radish, and one I will include every year. My only (not really much of a) complaint is that the seeds are a bit difficult to harvest, but I just sat down with a bowl and a pair of pliers. It was like cracking nuts! The seed pod is much woodier than other radish seed pods.
